Report: Christian Persecution is Worse Today Than Ever Before

Veronica Neffinger – February 12, 2018

When you think of the worst time in history for Christian persecution, perhaps you think of the Roman Coliseum or the Middle Ages and Reformation when Christians were burned at the stake for translating the Bible into the common language.

There are countless time periods in history when Christians have faced persecution for their faith. Jesus warned that persecution would come (John 15:20). We know this as Christians.

What may surprise you, however, (especially if you are a Christian living in the West), is that a new report has shown that Christian persecution is actually worse today than ever before in history.

According to Relevant Magazine, this report comes from Aid to the Church in Need, a Catholic persecution charity that “provides pastoral and humanitarian assistance to the persecuted Church around the world.”

This increase in Christian persecution is in large part due to terrorist groups like ISIS in the Middle East and Boko Haram in Nigeria. These groups particularly target Christians.

Comment: John Durrad

It should come as no surprise that Christians will be persecuted and as the end-time approaches that persecution will get worse. The article quotes a scripture from John.

“Remember the word that I said unto you. The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.” John 15:20

Although severe persecution is rare in England, attendance in the church of England is in decline. There is coming a time in the not too distant future when there will not be a church of England as it is today, but a Worldwide Church of God.
But today, young people are put off from religion, not necessarily because they fear persecution, but because the god of this world has tainted what true religion stands for. It is interesting that the average age of church of England members is now over 60 years. Not too far off the average age of members of the Church of God’s Faithful. Being over the age of 60 with much experience of life can be a wonderful advantage if the person is obedient to God.

“The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.” Prov 16:31

It is too bad that our young people are turned off by religion and have no interest in worshipping the True God. Unfortunately, we live in a Godless society guided by an individual who has dared to attempt to overthrow the God of the universe, so what else could we expect from this society? Even in the declining members of the Church of England there is no concept of the real Creator of the universe, but only a wishy-washy counterfeit of God’s plan; will be implemented.
Thankfully for the world God has reserved 144,000 Firstfruits to teach a pure religion undefiled by Satan’s influence. When that time comes, Church attendance will be 100% and it will be for men, women and children, and also of course for the hoary head.
