Abortion is Not a Fundamental Right Rules Federal Appeals Court

Danika Delello – January 11, 2018

A pro-life victory was won on Tuesday, when a federal appeals court voted to keep an amendment to Tennessee’s state constitution that denies abortion as a fundamental right.

Amendment 1, which states “Nothing in this Constitution secures or protects a right to abortion or requires the funding of an abortion,” was passed in 2014, but pro-abortion groups have been fighting to have it removed ever since, according to LifeNews.

Voters opposed to the amendment filed a lawsuit against it within days of its approval. When that failed, they took the matter to the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

The amendment passed 53% to 47%, but opponents claimed that the way the state of Tennessee counts ballots is unconstitutional and demanded a recount, says the Tennessean.

Although this is a little bit of sanity thrown into a world intent on destroying babies at an alarming rate, it will be mostly ignored. In fact, there is talk of criminalising those that advocate pro-life with a fine and possibly imprisonment if they believe in the sanctuary of life.

“Thou shalt not kill (commit murder)” Ex 20:13

This means the taking away of a human life unlawfully as stated in Matthew.

“And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is God; but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
He saith unto him, which? Jesus said, thou shalt do no murder. Thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false witness” Matt 19:17-18

It is hard to believe that mankind could turn this commandment completely around even to the extent of punishing someone who believes in God’s Word.

It should be that anyone aimed at persuading a mother TO abort her child could face criminal charges. Leaving out that little word “not” makes a lot of difference!
