By now, nearly everyone knows multiple government officials in Michigan knowingly poisoned thousands of men, women, and children after the city switched its municipal water source from the Detroit water system to the Flint River. Now, however, as if poisoning residents and their children weren’t enough, the city of Flint is threatening to take people’s homes for refusing to pay for the tainted water.
Although Flint — which blew wide open a year ago — is largely out of the headlines, the crisis is still unfolding. Residents are still unable to drink the water, leaving most families to rely on bottled water for everything from brushing their teeth to cooking and bathing.
In spite of multiple officials facing criminal charges, there hasn’t been a single conviction. The only people to face any consequences thus far, over the atrocity in Flint, are the citizens who are forced to pay for unusable water.

Water is an essential commodity to sustain life, and clean drinking water is necessary for human beings. It would seem that we can no longer take for granted the world’s water supplies. The majority of the earth’s surface is covered in water and yet we are unable in this technological age to supply every human being with an adequate supply of clean pure water.
The problem is we have polluted our planet. The earth, the air and the water have been subjected to the technology of a consumer society. It seems like we really don’t care about what we do to our beautiful planet, believing perhaps that a future generation will sort it out. Those that do care and try to do something about it are finding that it is a daunting task because it has been left too late.
We must look after our water. God even likens it to His Holy Spirit as rivers of living waters. Life needs water, but not the polluted slime that the residents of Flint are forced to put up with.
“And he shewed me a pure river of waters of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.” Rev 22:1
It won’t always be like it is today. We can look forward to a time when our water will be pure and as clear as crystal. Mankind won’t do it though, it will take Almighty God to implement the changes necessary to clean up our planet: and it will be done!
