(ANSA) – BRUSSELS, JULY 8 – NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg and the presidents of the European Council, Donald Tusk, and the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, on Friday signed an agreement that boosts cooperation between the two institutions to deal with new challenges including hybrid warfare, cyberattacks and the migrant crisis.

Stoltenberg said the deal was “historic” and would enable the EU and NATO to work as closely as ever.

Both organizations are able to confront these challenges on their own but form together a “formidable team”, Stoltenberg said.
